'Market Focus' in the US this evening

"Industrial production data will offer the latest on what has become an uncertain outlook for the nation's manufacturing sector." [Source: nasdaq.com., Mark Pender]

'Market Reflections' from previous session (16.08.2010)

"Stocks ended narrowly mixed Monday in a session that actually proved to be positive given a new run of negative news and a major inflow into the safety of Treasuries. Flat Japanese GDP was the main foreign news while U.S. news included a weak Empire State manufacturing report, slowing sales at home-improvement chain Lowe's, and a third straight post-stimulus drop in the housing market index. The Dow slipped only 0.1 percent to 10,298.

But money flowed heavily into Treasuries in part on the negative economic news and in part on new sovereign debt concerns in Europe. The 30-year yield fell 14 basis points to 3.72 percent and the 2-year yield fell 4 basis points to 0.49 percent. Gold gained 0.5 percent to $1,224 while oil slipped 0.2 percent to $75.50."
