Amscot have been stable in the 18 months i've been using them - no issues at all
when a market shock hits us at some time in the future, the threads will be full of investors moaning about the mainstream brokers once more - how they can't get online
have a back up if you don't want to miss out potentially the most lucrative days
i have 5 or 6 accounts including Comsec and Etrade but don't rely on them for trading
