Australian shares may open higher after encouraging earnings reports and reduced concern about Greece's debt problems helped US and European equities gain.
This morning on the the Sydney Futures Exchange, the March share price index contract was 11 points higher at 4649 points. Yesterday, the main indices rose strongly, both more than 2 per cent higher at the close....

In economic news, the Committee for Economic Development of Australia convenes its Economic and Political Overview 2010, with speakers including Reserve Bank of Australia assistant governor of economics, Philip Lowe, NSW Premier Kristina Keneally, and Deloitte senior economic advisor, Henry Ergas.
National Australia Bank releases its business survey for the December quarter.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics releases international merchandise imports data for January.
In company news, Qantas Airways, PMP, Sims Metal Management, Amalgamated Holdings, Austereo Group, Centrebet International, WorleyParsons, Noni B, Prime Media, Challenger Infrastructure Fund, Wesfarmers and ASX report first-half results.
