    "Yesterday's strong results from Alcoa are raising confidence in the second-quarter earnings season and fed a 1.4 percent gain for the Dow to 10,363. After today's close, Intel posted even stronger results pointing to overnight gains for global markets. Commodities rose with stocks with oil up $2 to $77. Demand for the safety of Treasuries eased with the 30-year yield up 5 basis points to 4.11 percent. Yet demand for the safety of gold held firm, up $10 higher at $1,210."
