    Good Morning all,

    US - Market Reflections - Thursday 16th June, 2011

Though the situation in Greece is uncertain and still unfolding, assurances of temporary support from both Europe and the International Monetary Fund gave a boost to the Dow which rose 1/2 percent to 11,961. Good economic news also helped including a rise for housing starts and permits and especially a dip in jobless claims. Bad news came from the Philly Fed which, confirming yesterday's Empire State weakness, reports contraction this month in its regional manufacturing economy. Oil held steady near $95 with gold steady at $1,530. The euro rose on the day making for a slight loss on the dollar index.

Market Focus in the US this evening

The unfolding of events in Greece will continue to grip the markets.
