China's exports jump 23%

China's exports rose 22.9 per cent in October from a year earlier, and imports increased by 25.3 per cent, the official Xinhua News Agency said today.
That left the country with a trade surplus of $US27.1 billion, compared with a surplus of $US16.9 billion in September.
The agency did not give further details.

The median forecast of economists polled by Reuters last week was for exports to rise 23.5 per cent and imports to grow 28.5 per cent, resulting in a trade surplus of $US25 billion.
