With the skin gone from his knuckles,grease and oil covering is worn overalls,the mechanic returned to the counter with the two timing gears.Placing them down on the counter along with the oil pump,pushrods,rocker cover and camshaft he asked if that was all I required."Sure" I said,"will do nicely."

"What do you need those old holden parts for?" he asked.

Told him that they were for the new scanner that I was building.Told him about Sandy's great scanner used to search for asx stocks and how it didn't pick up MDS,told him I was going to build a far better scanner,one that would search for volume.

"Your dreamin'" he replied,"it'll never work,least not without this".

As he handed me and old volume knob from some old car radio,I said to myself,"geez,mechanics, might knowhow to fix cars,but know nothing about ASX scanners,huh,volume knob,everyone knows you don't use volume knobs to build scanners"
