I still think gold is the perfect medium for them longer term.

If it was the case that 500t of paper gold was sold Friday and short, it will need to be covered at some stage. I'd expect them to do this over the course of a few months to not cause a stir whilst keeping gold in that trading level before adjusting their outlook back to $2,000 an oz based on US economy and USD etc
