Good afternoon traders
At lunchtime the local market has managed to perform better than the futures suggested possibly due to remarks from the chinese prem (see below) XJO +27 4308
Best performing sectors cons. staples mostly due to WES doing the heavy lifing (see below) and financials with the banks all green , energy also performing better than the overall market.
Under performing health care and materials sectors , strange duo a defensive and a cyclic.
More mixed results from the confession season
WES put a smile on investors faces with an increased profit and dividend and was marked up accordingly +$1 . CGF and TRS going well.
At the speculative end obvious performers are the duo of HOR and PEX.
Some notable losses were ABC and AWC after their results were less than well received by the market, the former being sent to the woodshed for a right whooping on heavy volume on a report that didn’t look that bad to me . EPX and TAH not doing well either.
Asian stocks rose as Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said easing inflation is allowing room to adjust monetary policy and positive signs are emerging in the world’s second-largest economy. Courtesy Bloomberg
