"Vultures are said to be circling surfwear wholesaler Billabong. Its share price tanked in 2011 after a poorly timed expansion into owning its own stores and the subsequent cash flow constraints caused it to downgrade earnings forecasts, raising the risk it would breach its debt convenants.
According to Morningstar, Billabong is more likely to fall into the hands of a trade buyer, despite widespread speculation private equity would prefer to take the company off-market."
