Sydney - Tuesday - January 24: (RWE Aust Business News) - Alcyone Resources (AYN) has encouraging results from the expanded exploration at Texas silver and polymetallic project in south-east Queensland.
Recent drilling intersected high-grade silver mineralisation immediately north of the Silver Spur mine workings, extending and enhancing the copper mineralisation intersected previously at the Hornet prospect, and confirming a number of highly prospective new base metal targets.
High grade silver mineralisation intersected in RAB drilling 200m north of Silver Spur were 26m at 138g/t silver (104g/t silver with 1000g/t silver top-cut applied) from 4m, including 3m at 840g/t silver (546g/t silver top-cut) from 5m, 3m at 121g/t silver from 11m, 1m at 128g/t silver from 18m and 1m at 81g/t silver from 28m.
At Hornet intersections included 38m at 0.68pc copper and 7.2g/t silver from 64m with 4m at 2.37pc copper and 27.3g/t silver and 1m at 2.59pc copper and 16.2g/t silver, 14m at 0.99pc copper and 8.2g/t silver from 110m with 2m at 2.26pc copper and 16.1g/t silver and 1m at 5.19pc copper and 36.8g/t silver, 16m at 0.31pc copper and 4.2g/t silver from 12m with 4m at 1.06pc copper and 11.9g/t silver and 1m at 1.25pc copper and 13.1g/t silver.
The Hornet mineralised zone now exceeds 140m strike length and has been extended to 200m down dip, with five copper shoots up to 5m in true width now identified.
