its a matter of needing both price and volume.
if you have 200% gain from $1 to $3 but only $10000 volume went through. impossible to get a trade out of that.
If you have 5% gain at $10million volume.. you can actually do better than the above, but again its hard to time an entry and be absolutely correct.
Optimal is having large volume + large price rise.
