    Good morning all. Daytrading Morning thread for Jan 4.

    Australian market preview:
    The Australian market looks set to open higher after the European bourses closed up and positive economic news in the US.

    US manufacturers have ended 2011 with their best month of growth since the late spring.

    At 0630 AEDT on Wednesday, the March share price index futures contract was up 37 points at 4,108.

    No major economic news or equities news is expected on Wednesday.

    In Australia, on Tuesday, shares broke a three-day losing streak to add one per cent in the first day of trading in 2012 after positive leads from European hourses.

    Stocks to watch on Wednesday:

    CQO - up three cents at $3.54

    CHC - down three cents, or 1.5 per cent, at $1.96
    Charter Hall Office Management has entered a binding scheme implementation agreement (SIA) to sell all units of Charter Hall Office Real Estate Investment Trust (CQO) to a consortium comprising three entities.

    IFE - IRONCLAD MINING LTD - down half a cent at 71.5 cents
    A new iron ore mine is to begin production within three months on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, creating 150 jobs.

    OMH - OM HOLDINGS LTD - steady at 32 cents
    OM Holdings says a freight train derailment in the Northern Territory will have no major impact on production or revenue.

    ORG - ORIGIN ENERGY LTD - up one cent at $13.35
    Origin Energy says the first of two gas-fired generators is ready to provide electricity to the Victorian market.

    ORI - ORICA LTD - up 16 cents at $24.40
    NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell says he's warned Orica he will close its Newcastle chemical plant if there are any more leaks.

    PYC - PHYLOGICA LTD - unchanged at four cents
    Perth-based biotech firm Phylogica has reaffirmed earnings guidance and signed a partnership with a unit of global giant Johnson & Johnson.

    STO - SANTOS LTD - up 10 cents, or 0.8 per cent at $12.34
    Mining giant Santos says it is reviewing coal seam gas (CSG) mining plans for the Pilliga State Forest, including the proposal to drill 1100 wells.
