Morning all, apologies for these very brief openers but I have to go and watch my recording of last night's Tour b4 I hear any news reports.
US stocks were slightly down (.1%) last night as investors digested news of credit downgrade for Portugal. This broke best two week run for US stocks for yonks.
I read interesting article about Greece. In last 179 years, Greece has been in default of its loans for 50% of the time. Yes, 50%! So this is not a new situation by any means. They are a bunch of slackers and will not change the course of the world economy. Only mystery is why other Euro countries decided to throw their lot in with Greece. The obvious outcome is that Greece will default and have to leave Euro. That will be a buying opp.
Gold did a nice bounce up to $1516. :>
The SPI 200 says we will be up 5%. Ho,ho. Not bl**dy likely. Today might be a good chance to get a bounce on oversold stocks at open as I think our market could come good as morning progresses, given UK markets up and RBA decision neutral.
Great to see many new and old posters taking up the slack.
Happy Trades
