Tax selling. Read one of your contract notes. The bit where it says "Today we have sold blah, blah etc". It doesn't say next Thursday we will have sold. Paperwork/settement etc go nothing to do with when you sell.
Getting on the company books for rights issue etc is another matter. That doesn't happen as soon as you buy.
Yeh, this is daytrade thread mitta but nevertheless, most are holding stuff a tad longer. It should be just the Share trading thread but Daytrading is a bit racier.
