Basically, which day depends on your investment type:

1> Traders, follow contract day
2> Investors, follow settlement day.

However Giz is right about "traders doesnt matter as stock at june 30 method" as stock on hand will be treated as closing stock on 30/06/2012 for calculating cost of good sold.
