    Hello Martin Gifford,

    There is an ASX rule that the brokers aren't allow to move the bid/ask by more than a certain percentage with a single trade.

    I've run accross this ProTrader/IRESS and Commsec.

    Some auto execution platforms will throw the order to a broker for manual "Ok"ing if it is out of a certain ambit to the last trade. You might be running up against this with stocks where the smallest increment is 25%

    I suspect that the brokers "look the other way" if it is a bit client/trader.

    Just a guess.

    There is a similar "throw to the human" with some of the ETFs, such as GOLD.AX, which can sometimes be a bit crazy in terms of liquidity and price.

    You can hassle the ASX directly on such matters and rules, and they will answer...sort of...eventually.
