Bazinga, cashngrab provided info unrelated to QPN as you say. Pertamina is in production very close to the newly aquired QPN concession but QPN are not anywhere near to actual production. Pertamina are the govt SME here in Indonesia, they also have the biggest slice of all the oil and gas pies here.

As for QPN, the lease is real and is a known oil and gas province in Sumatra. A joint study was carried out by Prabu Energy and Geology Department of Trisakti University in Jakarta, the uni where oil and gas people here are educated. It is regarded highly in the industry by both govt and private industry. He is now the Technical Director for QPN, simply does not get much better than to have someone like him on board.

The professor who trained most of the now leaders in Govt and private industry there is regarded as the preeminent authority in this field with extensive knowledge of the Indonesian oil and gas industry. He is literally a "door opener" here, of which can't be understated.

"Ranau PSC covers a large area of 2,123 square kilometres in a hydrocarbon rich region, and is virtually unexplored"

The above quote is fact, it is also fact that nearology will play a strong part in this, as the region IS "hydrocarbon rich". The joint study carried out has basically confirmed this.
