Just had a read of that blog and this is interesting:
"Glassman first pitched the forecast back in the heady pre-dotcom crash days of 1999 in his aptly titled book “Dow 36,000? with economist Kevin Hassett. When the book came out in September 1999, the Dow industrials were trading around 11,000."
