Of one thing we can be sure. Every other major bank in NY will have called there risk management teams back to work tonight and at this minute they are running through their CDS portfolios (trading book and balance sheet) running mark-to-markets to make sure that they they don't have the same problem.
At the end of the night most of them will sigh: "There but for the God go I".
