COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1763.04 oz. The Nov gold contract rose $35.50 to $1764.20 oz, the Dec contract rose $35.50 to $1765.10 oz. Dec silver was up 55.5c to $34.498 oz. Dec platinum rose $45.70 to $1644.60 oz and Dec copper rose 0.0075c to 358.85c lb.

LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $7845 tonne (pre $7912), tin $22,085 (pre $21,605), lead $1993 (pre $1978), zinc $1922 (pre $1916), aluminium $2123.50 (pre $2103.50) and nickel $18,700 (pre $18,655).

The 3-month ask prices were copper $7865 (pre $7926), tin $22,105 (pre $21,650), lead $2012 (pre $2000), zinc $1930.50 (pre $1922), aluminium $2146 (pre $2124.50) and nickel $18,775 (pre $18,700).



OIL... Dec crude rose $1.56 to $94.07 a barrel, with a high of $94.59 and a low of $90.87. The Jan contract rose $1.56 to $93.91 a barrel with a high of $94.38 and low of $90.76. Brent ICE for Dec rose $1.50 to $110.84 a barrel with a high of $111.23 and a low of $108.97.

US DOLLAR... is changing hands at 78.04 yen (pre 78.05), against the euro it is US$1.3832 (pre 1.3740) against sterling US$1.6043 (pre 1.5942) and against the Swiss franc US$1.1404 (pre 1.1308).





AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at US$1.0419 compared with US$1.0251 on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of US$1.0444 and low of US$1.0205. Against the yen it is at 81.32 (pre 80.66) at 75.34 euro cents (pre 75.24) and 64.95 British pence (pre 64.85).

Reuters CRB index is up 1.25 points to 320.01.
