COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1700.57 oz. The Oct gold contract rose $48.10 to $1699.60 oz, the Dec contract rose $48.10 to $1700.40 oz. Nov silver was up $1.407 to $33.037 oz. Nov platinum rose $26.80 to $1564.80 oz and Nov copper fell 2.9c to 341.90c lb.
LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $7590.50 tonne (pre $7380.50), tin $22,290 (pre $21,805), lead $1961.50 (pre $1940.50), zinc $1837 (pre $1840.50), aluminium $2195 (pre $2158.50) and nickel $19,825 (pre $19,035).
The 3-month ask prices were copper $7602 (pre $7381), tin $22,250 (pre $21,760), lead $1990 (pre $1970), zinc $1860 (pre $1861.50), aluminium $2221 (pre $2181) and nickel $19,900 (pre $19,075).
OIL... Dec crude rose $1.90 to $93.17 a barrel, with a high of $94.65 and a low of $91.10. The Jan contract rose $1.79 to $92.93 a barrel with a high of $94.22 and low of $90.96. Brent ICE for Dec fell $0.37 to $111.08 a barrel with a high of $111.75 and a low of $109.51.
US DOLLAR... is changing hands at 75.99 yen (pre 76.07), against the euro it is US$1.3906 (pre 1.3927) against sterling US$1.5999 (pre 1.5993) and against the Swiss franc US$1.1378 (pre 1.1352).
AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at US$1.0427 compared with US$1.0470 on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of US$1.0497 and low of US$1.0402. Against the yen it is at 79.22 (pre 79.68) at 74.99 euro cents (pre 75.23) and 65.18 British pence (pre 65.51).
