    To counter balance Kates US views - granted she's East Coast and I'm West - many you talk too don't agree with taxing the wealthy, they just can't see beyond the whole "taxation without representation".

    Their history is drilled into them through schooling etc.

    Many actually dislike taxes and associate it with the "lazy" underclasses that just live off the system - many will quote the whole "but half the country pay's zero tax at all" figure.

    Its an odd place.

    It really depends on who you talk to, their geography and their education.

    Often the poorest, who benefit the most from the Democrat leadership, are the most ardent Republicans.

    As they say - Go figure.
