SS and rorkes,
The short positions are the total sold and detailed at ASIC website NOT asx website where they inform only about daily short sells.
The 198 M short positions mean shares that were already fully sold, not partially sold etc. All these shares must be bought back in order to cover the debt of the shorter to the insto thery borrowed them from.
