There is still serious interest because central banks worldwide and devaluing their currencies and slashing their interest rates to negative zero. The only way out will be gold, silver, some commodities at the right time and physical assets such as property as well as Bitcoin. If you have gold in the bank, the government will take possession of it. It you have Bitcoin, hackers will try to steal it. If you have cash in the bank, bankers and politicians will rob you through inflation. You are ultimately responsible for protecting yourself no matter what you invest in. The problem with gold is I can't use it for everyday transactions. They tried but the fed shut it down. It will be much harder to shut down Bitcoin because of it's ubiquitous and digital nature.
