With increasing interest in bitcoin as an asset class from an institutional level, I will not be surprised to see this auction snapped up by some hedge fund type player. Its the easiest way for them to get exposure without driving up the price. The Winklevoss (Winklevi!) ETF is close to being approved, hopefully by early 2015 and this opens up an easy way for institutions to get bitcoin exposure without the hassle of owning and storing bitcoins directly.

After these auctions, i would anticipate the start of next bull run
