Great question. I'm going to guess that logically, there would only be generics for a medication if its still being prescribed.
But if it's been superseded by a new GLP-1 drug e.g. Ozempic and no longer being manufactured, then hard to see a generic being manufactured for a off-label purpose, after which Invex would be able to enforce the patent and orphan drug designated protection to stop it being sold for this purpose.
But a question I'm sure best answered by Dr Duthy.
