Spoke with two more old timers here in Adelong this week and both mentioned the reef running under the old bank in the main street. I was also told that there have been many old mine shafts in the past that run under the main street and surrounding township that have since been filled in ( Ive lived here for 50 years and never knew that). One old fella also told me stories about sink holes and sunken depressions appearing in peoples back yards.
Im now curious to find out more about the towns history and duration of mining in the area.
Anyway, just some local trivia and light reading while we all wait around to be millionaires lol.
