you dont know what is there at midpoint....its a "dark" market...
a good brokerage will take your order and "sweep" the market for the best price.....if you order at 8 and stock is available at 7.5, then you will get them....
midpoint orders are basically blind, and hit and miss, given the brokerage it can be expensive if you only get a partial, as they are day only orders
