There are occasionally days where this sort of apparent dip in the number of shorts outstanding appear - and are very often rectified the following day.
It is not so much Shortman as the ASIC reports they use. And I suspect it's normally caused by poor reporting to ASIC of short positions ie someone "forgets" their required daily report to ASIC, either on purpose or not.
I'll be surprised if it doesn't revert upwards on tomorrow's report.
