1 piece of key info that CSS didn't give us is how big were the fingerlings at age 38 days. It makes a massive difference to have this info. The smaller they are, the bigger issue CSS has.

Imagin a 16 year old boy @ 130 centimetres versus your average 170.

I know as a rule of thumb that in commercial eel farming, if your start with your fingerlings at about thumb size(male thumb), and if there wasn't any natural disaster or infectious disease in your pond, you can bank the bottom dollar to say you'd end up with 90% of your eels being grown ups for the season, as long as you're switching your feed size and regularly testing your chemical composition in the water(very importantly you also need to keep the bubbles in the water going so they can breath).

Now what we need to know is, are our fish babies big babies or little babies for their age. Absolutely crucial.
