It should only be a good thing for DTE; the US is pioneering massive use of unconventional gas and it is saving their economy. Europe will increasingly realise it is being left behind, and then have to catch up. Dart is ready to develop unconventional gas fields in Europe, being one of the leaders in the field. Unconventional gas is most economic if it is used in the place it is extracted. The logic of the economics is overwhelming vs importing from Russia, (or the US for that matter) plus the benefit of more energy independance.

The long term trend is for increasing unconventional gas worldwide.
