just reading from the age; updated at 6.01 pm there were some great comments that put the bid into perspective:
The Qantas pilots' union said the consortium trying to take over the airline had failed to gain shareholder support and should now just go away.
"Let's not forget where this takeover started. APA set a condition that they needed 90 per cent acceptance," Then they spoke about reducing it to 80 (per cent), then reduced it to 70 (per cent) - now they can't even get 50.
