Asset origination is bad, generates lots of fees as you spin off...but if you don't spin off - there goes the balance sheet. They are going to have reputation problems for some time if they stay with asset origination - they cant find buyers and cant close funds. Nothing else has caused the current problems. They are probably out of future asset origination now anyway - and probably were a month ago but didnt realise it - you need an end buyer to be a successful originator - any they dont have them. They are now the investors themselves!
