What if the AGM meeting with reelection of Alex is to test to see if shareholders are willing to kick him out.
Knowing this deal has gone on this long and will go waiting for sometime, Alex pull out AGM to test the water? If shareholders voted him out then Alex will pick up a good retirement package and leave the whole mess behind.
Or could be a usual yearly things and i'm just thinking too much into this.
