As far as financials are concerned, COP will book a profit on this sale so whilst the perception is they sold too low the reality is that they booked a profit as far as the balance sheet is concerned they have cash inflows to offset some of their debt which was always the aim of the game. Whilst COP had all of its deep water exploration assets up for sale, the reality is that SNE may have been possibly one of the few to get market interest and by the sale price then maybe WPL was the lone ranger or the largest bidder.
