A deal will include milestone payments to manage risk along the way. The deal might be 500M, but will only be a small amount up front, with further payments with positive P3 results and FDA marketing approval etc. So they will only pay the full amount for a drug that makes it to market.
Royalties will form an important part of the deal providing Neuren with a long term funding model to support other developments and use applications (eg TBI).
