The fact that LW didn't want to stump up any more money at the pointy end is telling. Also they had all of these "suitors" waiting yet only piddly Lanstead came to the party. The consolidation is another bit of "spin" to sell to the naive shareholders and keeps the "blue sky" takeover / partnership in play. BTW people have very short memories, they have been mentioning partnership for ages....years in fact.
