When they first intercepted the boat they should have returned them from where they departed, India.

It only became an issue because they were going to take them to Sri Lanka where they would face 2 years jail, possible torture and may be even worse.

They return Afghans and Iranians back to Indonesia, so why not return Tamils to India.

They spent too much time stuffing around with the Sri Lanka plan when an India plan may have been more effective.

Next time they should just return the boats from where they departed.
