Syd he had bought his investment quite low which kept him is safe grounds.
In many situations the main anxiety is created when paper profits are diminishing right before your eyes. The “what could have been” situation. Would certainly not judge him as he was new to it but I think we witnessed a bit of that here. But yes, he got out with his shirt.
I reckon many have faced a huge learning curve over the journey including myself for sure. Never has TA been so important to protect profits and capital.
