Just trying to play with some rough numbers. Per mou with Gerald metals, LIN needs to supply minimum 9,000 tonnes p.a. or up to 45,000 tonne per year.
steenkampskraal, a South African company quoted a monazite con price of US$6,000 per tonne or $US6/kg (most recent estimate I can see), or A$8.89 per kg. Euroz broker reports quoted US$3.9 per kg (A$5.77) for all sustaining costs.
Iluka quoted A$7.70/kg in 2021 for Mon con as another ref point
2025 euroz estimates production of 7.2kt of mon con, increasing to 16.6kt in yr 2 (2026)
assuming profit per kg of $3.22 at 16.6kt production = $53m profit for stage 1 p.a
this has been positioned/sold as a low cost and simple operation (which feels under appreciated by people). pretty healthy figures - hopefully feasibility study will support this.
