Wouldn't help to reveal sources but we have been down this road before. ATSIC was set up in the mid-80's to help advance the cause of the traditional owners of our land - some years later it was abolished with the agreement of all seriously concerned members of our community. It became a honeypot for many hangers-on and sundry nere-do-well's with serious allegations including rape, embezzlement and fraud. With the wishy-washy level(s) of government in this country it should not surprise to see the native title industry heading in the same direction.
