Like most things HF on first reading, your post seems pretty straightforward, the problem is there are many forms of 'criticism'

There is for example, constructive criticism, this is what most of us like to hear, nothing at all wrong with being constructive, any company would like to hear constructive criticism. There is also however 'destructive criticism' basically this type wants to destroy any validity of or merit of an entity, for example a company.

There is 'practical criticism, theoretical criticism, moral criticism etc etc ....and then there is 'Malicious criticism' which is the 'intentionally harmful, spiteful and vicious criticism, clearly not productive, clearly meant to just be harmful and yes spiteful..no merit in this at all.

If companies are not living up to plans and deadlines of course they should be criticised, why not? people have serious money invested, and no company should expect not to be criticised, but as you can see my friend, there is 'criticism' and then there is 'criticism'.
