Thank you sir for a very heart felt and rational description of the Lynas situation. However, I feel you make it clear the minister came into this knowing the outcome. I agree. Facts are not relevant to an individual who has succumbed to emotion. Such an individual twist the facts to fit their political narrative. This is toxic behavior. IMO, it's time Lynas moves on. Lynas entered into a business contract with Malaysia prior to investing hundred of millions of dollars and thousands of hours of human labor. Either Lynas has violated that contract or they have not. Either Malaysia is prepared to violated that contract or they are not. It is now a matter for the courts to decide. Dancing with the Devil is a waste of time. Let's focus our conversation on growth.
Lynas executives would be grossly negligent to invest any more money in Malaysia. Lynas executive's role, with respect to Malaysia, is see to it the legal agreement is enforced, that accepted standards of international law and safety prevail. Let the legal team work that out. That will ensure the LAMP will continue to operate and add value to the Malaysian people as well as protect shareholder's rights until it's decommissioned by Lynas. Management should now be focused on growing Lynas operations outside of Malaysia in a stable, science friendly, partner nation. Growth will happen outside of Malaysia, that has been made clear. Malaysian politicians made that choice, not Lynas. Let's discuss what are the good options ? Where can Lynas build its next plant ? Who should Lynas partner with to make the most out of its world class resources in a world where RE demand will continue to grow?
