but gz - that is the problem with pollies - say anything to get elected. watso recalls howard who introduced the concept of "core and non core promises" - not that the concept was new, but putting a tag to them was.
in other posts, watso has indicated that he is in a marginal electorate, and watso's vote could be important.
watso tends not to watch commercial tv, so he is immune to advertisements (but they probably sneak them into sbs). watso is pretty keen on getting cars of the roads, so supports the idea of railways. of course pollies make promises that are readily broken - nevertheless, the perth to mandurah railway was built under labor. watso does not like graft and corruption, but can see that bourke has (or had) a strong influence over the lab party - but then again crighton brown is just as bad - of course the likes of bourke and browne would never suggest that they were involved in graft and corruption, but they seem to wield a lot of influence, which ends up rewarding themselves (as paid lobbyists)
tough call - but at the end of the day, it probably will not make too much difference as to who is in power
