If coal is dead, why does Newcastle port(my home town and worlds largest coal export port) keep breaking records every year for most amount of coal exported. If coal is dead, where is all this demand coming from? If coal is dead why is there a non stop 24hr per day procession of coal ships entering Newcastle Harbour? If coal is dead, why are there plans underway to build a 4th coal loader in Newcastle? Don't believe what you read in the Fairfax press about the supposed death of coal because the reality I see in Newcastle everyday tells the real picture.
