Worksafe will investigate the incident which is the appropiate authority. Joe McDonald and his cronies is not the appropiate authority or spokesperson in this situation.
IMO The unions can be over the top a lot of the time.
But i have never ever seen them cut corners when it comes to safety.
Anyone who works on a constuction site (which i do) know when worksafe is going to turn up.
This because they tell the managers when they are coming.
On the smaller construction sites it becomes a free for all.
