i believe it is not needed, sorta like ur appendix.
more seriously.... we currently use the aussie dollar as our currency..... i often ponder what our attitudes to currency accumulation, taxation and wage increases etc would be if we were to use "live chickens" as our currency.
somehow, i think there would be a change in thinking.
