A Methodology “Environmental Plantings” has been approved by the DOIC and is already available for anyone to use.

This methodology is suitable for mallee eucalypts and has minimal costs associated with it, but it also has conservative carbon sequestration rates.

A new methodology for tree crops in dryland areas is currently progressing through the DOIC and it is expected to prove suitable for mallee plantations.

Anyone wishing to go down this path will be required to adhere to strict mapping and sampling procedures, and verifiable, but confidential, allometric equations, with additional destructive sampling each time they make a submission for carbon credits.
