They wasted trillions $ starting wars so they could control oil supply. They (George Bush) got themselves into this mess. America blows way too much money on military. Obama is being criticized for wanting to pull troops out of Afghanistan. Ie. Opposition wants them to send more troops and blow more $$. My mate was in Afghanistan (from Aussie army), he said they had no need to be there. It was a waste of time he said and innocent people dying for nothing.
Don't try peg this back on the government here. That is just ludicrous. Should we dish out money to Europe too? The global economy is due for another crash (within 3 years) and you want the Australian govt to dish out money to nations that have abysmal fiscal policies?
The writing has been on the wall for America for years. The media is just blowing it up now. They've been printing money since the dawn of time. Let the market go through it's cycle, the crash is inevitable. Things will eventually improve but you can't fix fundamental flaws with band aid solutions.
Also Flight, are you aware of the level of debt the USA are in? Google "us debt clock" Any money anyone gives them is only going to cover some interest...not principle. Once again, there's no point delaying and denying the inevitable.
The US needs to smarten up and cut it's military spending...end of story.
